Today I went to the San Jose Tech Musuem with Ashlee's class. We got to see a movie in an IMAX theater. The experience was neat, yet nauseating at the same time. For some reason the feel of the screen all around you makes you feel kind of sick. We also got to go on an earthquake simulator. Ashlee's class got to build a roller coaster model and learn all about slope, velocity, etc.

Columbia/This Week
We had the quite the week. Not to mention, quite a year so far. I have been sick for a little over a week. Spent all of last weekend practically in bed. Monday night Ashlee was up all night with a bad sore throat and headache. Tuesday we found out she had strep throat. Wednesday morning she woke up with a rash. I had to take her back to the doctor. The doctor suspected an allergic reaction to the antibiotic so they had to change the antibiotic. While I am at the doctor with her on Wedensday, some lady tries to park in the spot next to me and hits my car. Luckily the manager of the pediatricians office saw her do it, and helped me locate the lady and translate for me. Otherwise, the lady probably wouldn't have said anything. Wednesday I was finally able to get into the doctor as well. Apparently I have "chronic sinusitis(aka a sinus infection), requiring two rounds of antibiotic to clear it up. Glad I finally went in. I thought I had a virus since there seems to be so much going around right now. Thursday morning John and I decided that it was time to get away for the weekend. So we loaded up the trailer. Friday afternoon when John got off work we headed to Columbia to go camping. We had not been camping since August. So we were all ready to get away. It was a nice weekend. Great weather. Nice to get away for awhile.
Mikayla kept finding ladybugs. This is the first one she found. She kept playing with it. She didn't want to let it go. She decided a few weeks ago that the theme for her birthday party this year is going to be ladybugs as well.

Talent Show
Camryn, Aubrie, Jadyn and Ashlee decided a while back that they wanted to try out for the school's talent show. They had been working on a dance routine to Miley Cyrus's song "The Hoe Down Throw Down." First they had to auditon for the talent show. There were over 50 auditions and the top 25 where picked to participate in the show. Ashlee and her group of friends made it through the auditions and where invited to compete in the Talent Show that took place today. The Talent Show at Whitmore is a huge deal. Many parents and grandparents come to watch it. This year they decided to do two performances so that they could accomodate everyone that comes to watch it. It was a success. The girls did great. All their hard work, time and effort for the last month paid off. They had a great time.

Solar System
Ashlee had to do a 3D Solar System project for science. Here is what she made (this is our second attempt. She gave the first one to a friend to finish). She also has to give a presentation along with it to her class. After all the time, money, stress and effort that went into this. I hope she gets a good grade.

Dr. Seuss Week
Ashlee on Mix and Match your clothes day. Ashlee didn't know when to stop putting on clothes. She kept adding more and more to her wardrobe.
This week in honor of Dr. Seuss week. The kids got to participate in something different each day at school. Monday was hat day. Tuesday was crazy socks day. Wednesday was dress like friend- be a twin day. Thursday was Mix and Match your clothes day. Friday was spirit day. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of the girls everyday. But I did get pictures a couple of days.

Perseverance and Honor Roll
Today the girls had a Life Skill Assembly at school. The life skill for the month of February was perseverance. The first graders did a little skit and then sang and did sign language to the Rascal Flats song titled Stand. Below is a video of part of the skit. My camera ran out of memory towards the end of the song. Mikayla was the last letter "e" in the word perseverance. She also played the part of her teacher Miss Dusi. She did a great job singing and signing the words to the song. Her teacher said that earlier in the week she had Mikayla and another student teaching the song to the rest of the kids. They also gave out certificates for Honor Roll at the assembly. Ashlee got Gold Honor Roll. Which means she had a GPA of 3.75 or higher. Ashlee had a 4.0GPA. Both the girls are doing great in school. They recently did some district testing and both of them are achieving above what is considered "passing".
Note: After 2hrs and 45min of trying to post the video I gave up. I tried again, but it is saying there is some error with the video. So I guess I can't post it. It's really good too.

Surgery
Wednesday I went in for surgery again. I have been having lots of pain and other unpleasant things going on. The doctor thought that my endometriosis was back and had gotten into my right ovary. The plan was to do laproscopic surgery and a couple other procedures to clean things up, remove my right ovary and tie my tubes (we figured since they were going in, we might as well have that done too). Well once they got inside, they didn't find what they were expecting to find. They found a cyst on my ovary and were able to remove it while leaving my ovary in. And they found something out of sorts with my uterus, but they didn't find any endometriosis (which is a good thing). The doctor thinks since everything for the most part appears to look ok, that most likely my uterus isn't functioning properly and there is no way to tell if it is functioning properly. The plan is to see what happens the next three months and if things don't improve, I will have to have my uterus removed.
In the meantime I have been dealing with pain. The medication they gave me for pain made me sick. John called them to get something else and that almost made me faint. I am guessing this is a sign that I am just going to have to deal with the pain until I get through this. Today, I am feeling better than the last two days, so hopefully this means I am on the road to recovery.
