Libby's 38th Birthday

This year my birthday fell on the same day as the last day of school and Ashlee's 8th grade graduation.  The night before my birthday, while the girls and I were gone John did a little decorating and got an ice cream pie for us to enjoy.

Church

A couple months ago I was released from being Young Womens' Secretary and called to be a Primary Teacher.  I team teach with a friend and we teach the 9,10, &  11 year olds.  We have a big class.  It has been going well. The kids are good and seem to enjoy our class.  I made these bags for them to carry their scriptures, handouts and Article of Faith Cards in to church each week.  Hoping to instill some responsibility into them! :)  It seems to be working. For the most part they are all bringing their stuff.

Last day of school, Knotts Berry Farm, Midevil Times, Mason and Jessica's Wedding

June 6, 2013 the girls got out of school at 12:30pm.   After cleaning up from the end of the school year carnival activities, we headed home around 1:30pm.  2:00pm we loaded up the car and headed for Knotts Berry Farm.  The plan was to stay at the Knott's Berry Farm Hotel Thursday and Friday.  Friday spend the day at Knotts Berry Farm, Friday night go to the Midevil Times Dinner with Dan & Teresa and Family for Mason's bachelor party and Saturday attend Mason and Jessica's sealing in the LA Temple.
About an hour into our trip, John received a phone call, he had interviewed three times for a position at Foster Farms, and they were calling to offer him a job!  Half way through his phone conversation with them, he lost phone reception and the call was dropped (stupid cell phones)!  This is not good, when someone is calling to offer you a job (especially when they had called him a couple months prior to tell him he was not accepted for another job he had interviewed for, and the same thing happened)!  After several attempts to call them back, John was able to get through, got the details concerning the job, and accepted the position.  Talk about excitment, nervousness, craziness, etc., all rolled into one.  We have 3 weeks to find a house, move, and start a new job.  Talk about hectic and stressful!

6/7/13 Today is our 16th wedding anniversary too.
Knotts Berry Farm-This was our first (and probably our last trip to Knott's Berry Farms)  it was crowded.  There were lot's of schools there, with un-chapperoned kids running every where.  The lines where long, the rides were mostly fast, twisting, flipping roller coasters (not the type of roller coasters we like).  We like roller coasters, but not the ones that jar your back and make you feel sick.  We only rode 6 rides all day.

Midevil Times Dinner/Mason's Bachelor Party-Danny and Teresa invited us to have dinner with them and their family and Midevil times and celebrate Mason's last night as a bachelor.  It was a great family filled evening.  Dinner, family, and cheering on your team.  Thank you Danny and Teresa.

Mikayla with one of the horses in the show.  Ever since she hurt her foot, she has been obsessed with horses and wants to have one.

Clearly John and Ashlee cannot read the sign.  They did it anyways.

Opening Ceremonies

6/8/13-Mason and Jessica's Sealing-LA Temple
Saturday morning we got up bright and early and drove from our hotel in Buena Park to LA to the temple for Mason and Jessica's Sealing.  The sealing was great.  The temple sealer did a great job.  The temple sealer had such an affect on John, he said he would like to be a temple sealer!

After the sealing it was time for pictures.  And walking around the temple grounds.  Temples are always such peaceful places.  It seems even when the temple surroundings are not in the greatest neighborhood, the area around it is peaceful.  After the sealing we drove back to Anaheim for the reception.  We spent a few hours at the reception and decided to head home.  Ashlee needed to get packed for girls camp and we had a lot on our plate.  We needed to find a home and start packing.

Mikayla and Mom Date Night

When summer started we came up with a list of fun things we wanted to try to do this summer, along with a daily chore chart, and a reading incentive program.  One of the things on the fun list was a Mikayla and Mom Date Night.  Tonight we had our date.  Mikayla and I went and got pedicures and had dinner at Angelini's.  John and Ashlee also had a date night.  They went to dinner at Cool Hand Lukes, ice cream at Coldstone and Ashlee got a new book.

15 Years

15 years ago today we were married.  John suprised me at work today and had these beautiful roses delivered to me.
The following day we went to dinner at Vito's in Modesto, and saw Brian Regan.  There was also a car show going on in downtown Modesto near the Gallo Center where we saw Brian Regan. We got to watch the car show before seeing Brian Regan.

My 35th Birthday

I turned the big 35 this year.  My birthday fell on a Sunday, but John was very determined that I find a babysitter on Saturday so we could go out.  I figured he was up to something, but didn't know what.  Luckily my brother was off work from his surgery and had his kids for the weekend so he watched the girls.  John suprised me by taking me to my favorite resturant, Angelini's and having some of our closest friends meet us there for dinner.  After dinner we went and had yogurt at Yogolicious for dessert.  Sunday we went to church.  Ashlee made a cake for me and then I went a YW board meeting.  After I got home from my YW meeting they sang Happy Birthday to me and we ate cake.

Christmas Morning- Standing by the gifts that Santa brought.

Two happy girls.  Santa brought them both Ipod Touches.  Something they have been wanting for a long time now.

Ashlee got- shirts, duck tape, friendship braclet string, lanyard string, Cinderella Cleaners books, a robe, and a DS Game.

Mikayla got:: Ramona Book Collection, robe, slippers, sketch pad with Twistables, a DS Game, a multiplication facts computer game and a Crayola White Board/Black Board.

John got a wireless meat thermometer, a food dehydrater/jerky maker, and jerky seasoning.
Libby got clothes, a dress, a necklace and some braclets.

We had Christmas Lunch/Dinner at our house.  My brother and his family came over, my mom and Terry, and my grandpa and Kay came over.

Ashlee got some clothes, money and Target Gift Cards

Adam, Dylan and my mom.

John made some rabbit jerky with his new jerky maker.  Everyone who tasted it said it was good.  John spent the day trying to get the girls Ipod's to work.  After about 12 hours of trying to get the Ipods to work, he ended up loosing our internet connection in the process.  The next day he drove the kids into town, parked in front of an At&T store and had the Ipods working in a matter of minutes.  We should of just done that on Christmas day, instead of spending the whole day messing with them.  We had a great dinner. Ate way too much food, and had a good time spent with family.  The girls are both liking their Ipods very much.  John say's he wants one too.  We will have to see about that.
