When Ashlee turned 8 last year, John told her she could get her ears pierced. But she ended up with a really bad ear infection and we never did it. A couple days ago she asked me about getting it done. Yesterday we told the girls they could pick something fun to do on Saturday like a movie, bowling or Fun Works. But I had an idea, I asked them if they wanted to get their ears pierced instead. They both got smiles on their faces and said yes. So after approving it with John, we got in the car and took them to the mall to have it done. Mikayla wanted to go first. She was so cute. You could tell that she was being tough about it, but at the same time she looked like she wanted to change her mind. As soon as the ladies were done with it she jumped out of the chair as fast as she could (like she was afraid they were going to do it again). But you can tell by her smile in the after picture that she was happy (she told us later that she had butterfly's in her stomach). Then it was Ashlee's turn. She was excited. After all, Mikayla just did it without crying so that was sign everything would be ok. You just got to love that look on her face as they are doing it. Mikayla told her that her friend Allison just closed her eyes and then it was done. I guess Ashlee was taking her advice. They are both happy to finally have earrings. They did great. No tears.

The Little Mermaid
One of Ashlee and Mikayla's Christmas gifts this year was tickets to go see Disney on Ice with their friends the Stiles and Starkweathers from school. Wednesday afternoon, Meliesa, Heidi, Linda (Heidi's Mom from Colorado) and I took our girls (there were 15 of us total) to Arco Arena in Sacramento to see Disney on Ice. It was a great show. The girls had lot's of fun. It's amazing to see how much detail they put into the costumes and props.

Ashlee & Mikayla's Valentines Party
After reading they made a bear book mark, exchanged Valentines and ate bear cookies.

I like this picture of Mikayla, but I didn't realize what was in the background until I loaded the photo. Too bad I don't have Photoshop to edit it out.
Ashlee's class decorated papermache heart boxes and filled them with Hugs for their parents. Exchanged Valentines and had Valentine Donuts and Milk.
