Funworks

For the last three years Mikayla's orthodontist has had an event at Funworks for his patients and their families. This year was the first time John was able to go with us (it's a lot easier when he comes).  Usually each of the girls wants to do something different and there is only one of me and two of them, so I can't watch both of them at the same time.  There was a lot of people so we didn't get to do a whole lot because the lines were pretty long.

Towards the end of the evening, Ashlee decided she wanted to ride the race cars and Mikayla and John decided they wanted to play miniature golf.  While John and Mikayla were playing golf, John decided to bounce the golf ball and catch it.  Mikayla thought she could do the same thing, so she bounced the golf ball (a whole lot harder than John did) and the ball smacked her in the lip.  She ended up with a swollen lip.  Luckily she didn't get hurt worse!  Other than that, it was a nice, free family evening of fun.

Some day we will have a decent family snapshot.  John was standing by the girls and decided to scoot out of the picture at the last minute(it's that awnry gene in him)!
Then John said "let me get a picture of you with the girls."  Then he proceeds to take as long as he can to take the picture.  Our eyes are blurry and starting to shut because of the brightness of the sun!

The race cars.  The girls love to drive the race cars at Funworks.

Mikayla is a few inches shy of being able to drive by herself, so she got to be chauffeured by Mom!
The SOAKING bumper boats.  We learned a few years ago to bring a change of clothes.  Because they end up SOAKED!

Tie-Dye Shirts

This summer I came up with a daily chore chart, summer reading program and a summer fun list for the girls to do.  One of the things on the summer fun list was to tie-dye shirts.  Weeks ago I used some 40% off coupons for Michaels and bought the stuff, but we just finally got around to having the time to actually do the shirts.  It turned out to be a fun, cheap, and quick project.  The girls love how their shirts turned out.

Every year for the last 3 years the girls have entered arts, crafts and cakes into the fair and look forward to going to the fair with their friends to see what awards they received.  This year grandma bought them writstbands for unlimited rides so they got to ride the rides too.

Waterslides

Several years ago my mom took our family and my brothers family to the waterslides.  She probably didn't know it at the time, but she started a family tradition.  Every summer we all go to the waterslides together.  A few weeks ago we planned on going today.  Today was the day that seemed to work best with everyone's schedules.  I wish we could've had a magic ball to look into and forecast the weather for today, before making our plans.  Last week we were in the hundreds all week and would have loved to jump in the water.  Today it was only 85 with a breeze.  Making it a bit chilly for a day at the waterpark. We all "toughened up"  fought off the chill and had fun.  Some how we all managed to get a little sunburned too, inspite of applying sunscreen throughout the day!

While taking these pictures I thought I was zooming in and getting some decent pictures.  But I guess my camera just doesn't zoom in enough!  Sorry for the tiny pictures.  Everyone and everything looks so mininture now that they are on the computer.  Oh well, they will have to do, because these are the only pictures we have from today.
